Marc D. Halley, MBA, chairman emeritus of The Halley Consulting Group, has provided management and consulting services to hospitals and medical practices for more than 30 years and has worked with a variety of physician specialties in hospital-owned and affiliated medical practices across the United States. A frequently requested speaker, Marc addresses governing boards, senior executives, physician groups and management teams. He has presented at events for national organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, Forum for Healthcare Strategists, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, The Governance Institute, The Healthcare Roundtable and numerous state hospital associations.
Marc has authored and co-authored several articles that have been published in industry journals such as Trustee, Healthcare Financial Management, BoardRoom Press, MGMA Connection, Group Practice Journaland the Journal of Medical Practice Management. Marc also has been quoted in diverse publications – from the Los Angeles Times to Hospital Review, Physicians Practiceand CMA Today. Marc’s first book, The Primary Care Market Share Connection: How Hospitals Achieve Competitive Advantage, was released by Health Administration Press in March 2007. Marc contributed to a three-volume set titled The Business of Healthcare, published in December 2007 (Cohn/Hough, editors, Praeger Perspectives, Greenwood Publishing Group). Marc also was a contributor and co-editor of The Medical Practice Start-Up Guide,released by Greenbranch Publishing in August 2008. American Hospital Association Press released his latest book entitled Owning Medical Practices: Best Practices for Sustainable Results,in January 2011.
A graduate of Weber State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, Marc also received a Master of Business Administration degree from Utah State University.
