Michael J. Ferry, MPA, president and chief executive officer for The Halley Consulting Group, has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 30 years in varying leadership roles for both hospitals and physician networks. He has been engaged in physician practice development for 19 of those years, working both with Halley Consulting and serving as the lead operational executive for a large regional physician network affiliated with a national healthcare organization. As a Halley Consulting executive, Michael has worked with a full range of clients, including networks with more than 800 physicians. His projects have included interim management of medical practice networks, practice acquisition, network start-ups, and a full scope of consulting and implementation activity leading to network growth and performance improvement. Engaging physicians and hospital/system executives in operational governance using the Halley Consulting governance model is a particular area of interest for Michael. More recently, he worked with a Midwest region client to successfully apply for the CMS Innovation Center Bundled Payment Pilot around two specific episodes of care.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Public Affairs degree and a certificate in Healthcare Management from Indiana University. He also was a contributor and co-editor of The Medical Practice Start-Up Guide, released by Greenbranch Publishing in August 2008. He is a member of ACHE and MGMA.
Michael is a native and resident of South Bend, Indiana.
